Bruce Johnson - Board Chair & Founder   Tim Campbell - President & CEO

Bruce Johnson founded Fresh Island Fish in 1975, and built the operation from a 1 man company to 100 employees. Bruce has decades of experience as an entrepreneur, boat captain, managing fisheries, and has won dozens of awards for his business and leadership accomplishments throughout his career.

Bruce is a fisherman at heart, and brings the values and teachings from his closest fishing mentors and "Uncle's" into everything he does. As a tribute to these important figures in his life, he designed and opened the restaurant, Uncle's Fish Market & Grill in 2007. The restaurant has been recognized as a top seafood restaurant on Oahu 6 years in a row by Honolulu Magazine's Hale ‘Aina awards, and in February 2016 was ranked top 5 seafood restaurants in the U.S. according to USA Today's 10Best.

   

Tim Campbell is President and CEO of Fresh Island Fish Company. Clients include hotels, resorts, executive chefs, grocery stores and local fish markets throughout the state. Tim is responsible for day-to-day management of the sales team as well as setting the strategic vision for the Fresh Island Fish. He also oversees the accounting team and all long-term investments for the company including commercial real estate opportunities.

Tim is also responsible for Uncle's Fish Market & Grill, Fresh Island Fish's sister company and tribute restaurant. Tim brings decades of real estate and financial experience, and is focused on marketing the seafood restaurant to both locals and visitors and finding new locations to expand the brand throughout the state of Hawaii.

 


The Company

Our main processing plant in Honolulu is located 3 minutes from the Honolulu airport. A fast array of Hawaii's fresh fish and premium seafood's are delivered to our doors straight from the Honolulu Auction block and Pacific Fishing Vessels. With our professional buyers selecting only the freshest quality seafood at the best prices available, our daily product offerings feature premium seafood at competitive prices.

Fresh Island Fish houses a staff of skilled fish processors and grading technicians. Proper handling, processing, and packaging are the reasons why top quality fish is delivered consistently to our customer's doors. Oahu distribution is offered daily to all restaurants, hotels and markets, delivered in refrigerated vehicles.

In addition to fully servicing the state of Hawaii, our experience in exporting has allowed us to become a leading seafood supplier to the Pacific Rim. Through many years of working with trade partners throughout the Pacific, Fresh Island Fish is able to offer an extremely wide variety of fresh seafood products from our Oahu facility.
